Supply Chain Optimization through Enterprise Simulation Planning

About the Speaker:

Mr. Hicks is the lead software architect and developer of Supply Chain GuruTM, the first off-the-shelf application to combine network optimization, network simulation, and other advanced analysis algorithms.  Based on the high observed ROI from projects, coupled with excellent customer satisfaction, LLamasoft has become one of the fastest growing companies in the market, having been adopted by some of the world’s largest and most respected organizations, including Dell Computers, Unilever, ConocoPhillips, Cadbury Schweppes, US Department of Defense, General Mills, Frito Lay and many others.

Mr. Hicks is a frequently invited speaker and author on supply chain strategy and technology issues.  His multi-part series “A Manager’s Guide to Supply Chain Technologies”, published by IE Solutions, was awarded the Gold Medal for Feature Reporting by the Georgia Publisher’s Association in 1998 and 1999.  He was selected in 2006 and 2007 as one of a few “Pros to Know“ by Supply & Demand Chain Executive.

Presentation Overview:

The presentation will describe and demonstrate how a software, enterprise simulation planning (ESP) can predict future supply chain performance under a variety of possible turbulent future states.  ESP quantifies supply chain financial metrics to an unprecedented amount of detail - most companies are not yet aware that this technology is feasible, or that it is currently being used by top organizations.  By simulating and predicting supply chain financial performance, strategic decisions can be driven by risk quantification and portfolio management techniques which formerly were applied only in finance and capital management contexts.
