All of the above activities help build out critical experience on a supply chain student's resume. Below we've shared more tips on resume development for students in school or recently graduated.

Per a recent Ladder's article, they suggested some of the following Do's and Don'ts for writing your first post graduate resume:

Do's:

• Use specific numbers, titles, and accomplishments. For Supply Chain students, this includes becoming an APICS Member and great news - it's FREE for students! Another great opportunity is the annual ASCM (formerly APICS) Case Competition. The 2020 ASCM Case Competition is an event that allows student teams to use their knowledge of supply chains to solve real-world business problems. It is hosted by the Association of Supply Chain Management, which evolved from APICS, and Deloitte, the consulting firm that helps companies combine supply chain initiatives with business strategies. • Highlight University leadership roles. Leadership roles include joining an APICS Student Chapter if one exists at your school or starting one! We are proud to partner with EMU APICS Student chapter. You can read more about the great work they did last year from company tours, to job fairs and more in our blog post outlining their accomplishments.
• Demonstrate a clear career objective and path. As a Supply Chain student, you should include this focus at the top of your resume and include specific education and skills that are relevant to the role you are seeking. When it comes to resumes, the answers to the test are in the job description, so make sure you've included the most relevant skills based on the opportunity you are applying for!

Don'ts:

• Keep anything from high school, UNLESS it is clearly and specifically related to the role(s) you’re applying to.
• List out your entire 4-year course load. We would suggest including your higher level supply chain courses!
• Write a long, generic “personal summary”. We'd suggest including just 2 - 3 sentences at the top of your resume outlining your skills, education and abilities specifically as they pertain to the supply chain role you are seeking.
